ROPES is an acronym for Rites of Passage Experiences. Through the resources of parentministry.net our website offers resources to equip parents to have these experiences with their children on an annual basis. The experiences are designed to help guide their young person through these challenging times by recognizing what they are going through and to help them know they are not alone in this walk through these critical years. They are also designed to help your child know how special they are to you and to God. The hope is parents will foster a deeper trust between them and their children by creating these opportunities for experience and discussion.
As you click through the ROPES area of the web site you'll find at least six tools at each grade level. First, you will be able to watch two videos. One video is a "why" video for the ROPE and other video is to help inspire you in how the ROPE might come together for you in your personal family setting. Then, there are at least 4 PDF files which are full of resources to help you have the tools and the confidence to make the ROPE happen. The first file is a developmental guide to help you better understand where your child is physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Second is the kick starter which is the Biblical background and inspiration for that particular ROPE. Third is the all important "How to" guide which walks you through how you can make the ROPE happen in your context. Finally, there will be a resource or resources you'll need to help carry the ROPE to it's completion.
